Romans 8.18-30
Present Suffering and Future Glory
18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. 19 For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. 20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.
22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. 24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? 25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

ReplyDeletev.18-25 - tells us of how God's creation had become...it was tarnished...and being restored...redeemed...
"But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently." - what is this that we wait for patiently?
Christine Carla
Everything that we are hoping for -- for me, in present time, realizing what my ultimate goal is in life.. That is what i am hoping for and i will wait for that patiently.
V.26 speaks of how the Holy Spirit is always there for us to guide and help us through our journey bcoz often times become weak -- the Spirit intercedes.
Hans Jason
yup..."the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God."
there are times...that we cannot speak of to God what we want to...but the Spirit knows...and intercedes for us.
right...everything we hope for.
Christine Carla
Amen.
V.18 should not be forgotten, and must be kept in our hearts always --our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. ♥ -- and this is what i will patiently be waiting for.
Hans Jason
"And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified."
-- blessed is the person who is one of this...as firstborn among the many.
one of the famous verses of the believers... "28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. " ...
for those of us who have been waiting (patiently waiting)...and hoping...i thanked God that i knew this verse. whenever i stumble, fall, and sometimes when i cannot understand some things...this is such a great comfort.
"our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us" - :) when He comes back.
Christine Carla
So true. :) they mean the same for me.
Christine Carla
Yep, the day i will see Him, face to face :')
Hans Jason
:)
thank You Lord.
Christine Carla
--Father thank you for your presence, your mercy and your love. We are cups prepared, made, cleansed and used by you. Continue to keep us in your ways for your glory and honor. Amen
Hans Jason
Amen.
Romans 8:18-19
ReplyDeleteChristians suffer like unbelievers suffer.
Sometimes we must suffer more than them because Jesus told us to take our cross. Luke 9:23
It is not easy to take our cross and accept suffering because of Christ.
Philippians 1:29 For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake.
We must accept the cross 2 Timothy 2:11-13
We must be ready and aware of the fact that this suffering is nothing compared to the Glory we will receive in Heaven.
23-25 We must know that only in heaven we are going to live with eternal peace and stuff like that. We can not make heaven on heart. We will only be victorious because our King reigns in this world and also in the world that is to come. We must be better workers and such, but we will suffer just normal men.
Yess Christine we hope for our life in heaven

The things which God has prepared for those who love Him" - 1 Corinthians 2:9
